Intermediate · Hard Shoe Training
Novice / Prizewinner
This is one of the most exciting phases of an Irish dancer's journey! At these intermediate levels, the pace picks up. We introduce hard shoes — weighted shoes with fiberglass tips that create Irish dance's signature percussive sound — where dancers learn to stamp, "treble," and create music with their feet. Alongside hard shoe, our soft shoe choreography becomes more athletic and graceful. Dancers at this level often begin competing at local feiseanna (competitions). We focus heavily on celebrating their effort, building their performance confidence, and refining their technical details.
